Sports Massage

The prime purpose of a sports massage is to restore balance in your musculoskeletal system and help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during repetitive and strenuous physical activity. Receiving a Sports Massage on a regular basis can improve posture, flexibility and range of motion, enhance performance, aid recovery and above all, help prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement. This type of massage is equally effective for athletes, those regularly physically active or the once a week jogger.

A combination of deep and vigorous massage techniques, compression, neuromuscular technique, muscle energy technique and stretches are used to effectively loosen up tight or restricted areas within the soft tissues. This is not a relaxing massage and you should be aware that you might feel some discomfort as it tends to be deeper and more intense than a Deep Tissue Massage. However, it should never be painful.

Sports Massage is extremely beneficial for people engaged in regular physical activity, irrespective of age and level of fitness making it a valuable part of any training regime. It also reduces the likelihood of injury and improves recovery time after training and is beneficial for anyone looking to maintain their health and wellbeing.

Claudia was a great asset to us on the day of the London Marathon 2019 – she came to assist us in giving sports massages to our runners representing The Children’s Society. We have had some brilliant feedback from runners about Claudia’s manner and professionalism, and most importantly, how amazing their massages were after running the marathon! We hope to work with her again in the future.
